2nd Battery [video/action in Cherrygrove City]

[The video feeder begins and there is 17 with the ice lake behind him while Skarmory randomly swoops by in the background. The cold weather is no bother to him.]

Okay, I admit. This place doesn't seem so bad. Just a couple modifications here and there. Anyway, that's not the important part. Got a question here for all you.

Does this place have any that shoots beams?

Probably. Or of they don't, there are plenty that can breathe fire, if that's close enough for you.

Well, you're in luck, I believe there are a couple. Hyper beam, or something like that.

Dunno. None of mine have it. I bet with some Pokedex research you could figure it out.

[It's the Skarmory that catches her eye more than anything, her own ducking over her shoulder to watch the easy, acrobatic movements over the lake. But he'd asked a question, this guy, so Tenten forced herself to return her attention to him.]

What kind of beams, like water or light?

Well, I think there's an ice one and something that just causes a lot of damage, but I can't remember what they're called, sorry.

[She could look it up, but that would take too long. Even a ninja had problems with gathering just this much information, after all!]

Is that Skarmory yours?

[Her own Skarmory lets out a screeching metal-on-metal squawk of interest, leaning further over Tenten's shoulder to get a better look -- in the process pushing the younger girl out of the picture entirely.]

Feng! Get out of the video already, would you?! [The Skarmory just taps his beak against the 'gear screen.]

Ugh...

Yes, some Pokémon can learn how to do that! There are a few different types of beam moves... Off the top of my head, I can think of BubbleBeam, SolarBeam, and Hyper Beam.

I'm pretty sure it's a Normal-Type move, so it doesn't really have an element.

I think it's possible for some Pokémon that aren't Normal-Type to learn it, too, actually!

No. It called TMs. They are like discs. Cost lots of money.

Hyper Beam, Solarbeam, Bubble Beam, Psybeam, Signal Beam, Ice Beam, Aurora Beam, Charge Beam... take your pick.

[He snickers, turning his camera on his very skinny Dragonite, who grins before unleashing a bright blast of light from his mouth.]

Some Pokémon learn beam attacks by leveling up, others from TMs and tutors. Out of all of them, Solarbeam's probably the toughest to come by without a grass type; the TM's unbuyable, and I'm still not sure where mine came from.

Hyper Beam. It's one of the tougher beams out there, but it requires a recharge after use, and it's normal type.

[Huff. Draco's rather pleased with that beam, trainer! But if you want something a little more practical, fine. Watch as he unleashes a chilly blast at a nearby wall, cloaking it in ice.]

Unfortunately, Skarmories can't learn any beams.

[He shrugs. Draco, in the mean time, lets out a boisterous laugh. That's right, bird-brain! He's got the real moves. No metal-head could even dream of reaching his level of skills.]
